About Us

Mike McCormick

Head coach Mike McCormick is a competitive runner and triathlete in the 70-74 age group. He is thankful for the positive difference that running has made in his life and  grateful to have found such a rewarding way to give back to the community. 

Andrew Sallans

Assistant Coach Andrew Sallans is a swimmer and a former pole vaulter.  He remembers how much of an impact swimming and track had on him while growing up and hopes to help Henley students have a similar experience. His oldest son is a 3 season Henley runner and his other three children are likely to follow when they get to Henley.

Eliese Zawacki

Assistant coach Eliese Zawacki is a science teacher at Henley and a former shot putter and discus thrower. Her specialized training sessions have resulted in a steady stream of medals in these events for Henley.

Local Partnerships

The Henley running program actively partners with the Albemarle County Public School System, Albemarle Parks & Recreation, and a supportive network of school athletic programs that span Central Virginia.
